In the PICU...and it's not who you think.
Alex has pneumonia. boo. We had a horrible night last night that ended in the ER with respiratory distress at 5am. He's doing well now. He's on a bit of oxygen to keep his o2 sats up. They started antibiotics and steroids. Poor guy. I'm keeping a running tally of how many times I go to the ER with these kids. Alex just tied it up at 2. It seems he wants me to remember that he, too, is medically fragile. I hope for a return home tomorrow...it's like baby-jail in there. He clangs his "shaky" against the rails for attention :(
Lauren, on the other hand is doing well. Her weight is down to 21 pounds 11oz...this means they increased her calories by 15% and we're starting to run her feeds faster! Can't wait for trach trials tomorrow!
Just a cute pic of Lauren

ReplyDeleteMegan, you are a wonderful Mother. Your children love and adore you and that is what counts. Everyone around you (minus those imbreeds)love and respect you. You fight for your children when noone else will. "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass.....it is about learning to dance in the rain." Love you!

ReplyDeleteMy mom taught me that if you have nothing nice to say, then don't say it at all. I think it would be best for the Key family (meaning Nick and his family)to abide by this rule as well. Having said that, Megan this is the cutest picture of Lauren I have seen. She is so adorable. You are a great mom and I know you love your children. It has got to be exceptionally difficult in your situation. You have friends that are here for you. Remember that.
